Retail's Best Friend: Long-Life, ecomagination-Qualified Diamond Precise® Lamps Cut Energy, Maintenance CostsCLEVELAND The full line of ecomagination-qualified Diamond Precise® electronic compact reflector lamps from GE Consumer & Industrial are a cost-conscious retail chain's best friend. Compared with standard 50-watt halogen PAR20 lamps or standard 50-watt incandescent R20 reflectors, a 21-watt Diamond Precise® lamp cuts wasteful spending on lighting energy by up to 58 percent. Easy to retrofit in existing accent fixtures, the budget-friendly lamp minimizes maintenance costs and hassles by providing up to two and a half times the life (5,000-hour rated life vs. 2,500-hour rated life for a 50-watt halogen PAR20 or 2,000-hour rated life for a 50-watt standard incandescent R20 reflector) of lamps it could replace. "Diamond Precise® is for retailers and other commercial operations that are in tune with how significantly energy costs affect the overall cost of light," says Jim Benson, incandescent-halogen product manager, GE Consumer & Industrial. "This lamp offers major energy savings plus a rated life that can really impact maintenance costs." Developed for use in retail, commercial, museum and restaurant settings, Diamond Precise® lamps deliver up to $14.50 per year in energy savings (assuming $0.10 per kWh and 5,000 annual burn hours). Although its face lumens are lower, the multi-faceted Diamond Precise® reflector concentrates lumens on target, diminishing wasted extraneous light. The better, more accurate optical control of Diamond Precise® lamps is achieved by utilizing the advantages of GE's exclusive low-voltage MR16 ConstantColor® lighting technology. Diamond Precise® lamps also offer the convenience of a direct retrofit and the controllability of standard PAR20 and R20 lamps. Operable on standard incandescent dimming circuits, Diamond Precise® lamps feature a medium screw base with built-in electronics that enable a conversion from line voltage to 12 volts. GE Consumer & Industrial encourages customers to work with GE distributors to address wasteful spending on energy. Some helpful software tools include the company's Cost of Waiting Estimator, available online at www.gelighting.com/na/business_lighting/education_resources/tools_software/, and ValueLight, GE's advanced, proprietary cost-of-light tool available exclusively through GE distributors.
