The new lamp compares favorably with 400-watt standard metal halide lamps in both energy consumption and quality of light. While consuming 20 percent fewer watts (320 vs. 400 watts) than a 400-watt standard metal halide lamp, it provides a higher color rendering index (90 CRI vs. 65 CRI), greater color consistency and superior lumen maintenance (80 percent versus 65 percent). Its 20,000-hour rated life eases maintenance pressures and costs.
