Big Easy, Small Footprint: New A Series® II Powerpanel from GE installs easily, runs reliably

PLAINVILLE, CT - Commercial construction managers installing the new A Series® II Powerpanel from GE Consumer & Industrial's Electrical Distribution business will notice it installs easier and takes up less space than standard powerpanels. Building operators and owners will experience...nothing, a welcome consequence of bus-connected TVSS for maximized surge protection and GE reliability.

For an example specification consisting of a 480/277V service, one 800A main breaker and three 600A feeder breakers, the new A Series II Powerpanel is 30 percent lighter than a standard Spectra Series™ Panelboard.

The A Series II Powerpanel's symmetrical design requires no top or bottom mountings. Galvanized enclosures are equipped with removable end walls and staggered, center-mounted, larger frame breakers (SG, SF) for easy installation. Enclosures are available in NEMA Type 1, Type 3R/12 and Type 4/4X. With its single-piece deadfront, it requires no filler plates.

Along with reliability and easy installation, the A Series II Powerpanel offers:

  • Double branched 150A (ED/SE) and 225A (QD) breakers
  • Captive hardware on branch breakers;
  • Ready-to-install hinged trim options;
  • Up to 600A breaker mounted as a branch device; and,
  • Vertically mounted main circuit breakers in 800A.
