New GE Monogram® Electronic Induction Cooktops Captivate with Magnetic Presence and Performance
LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — Monogram® culinary sophistication takes a bold and innovative turn with new electronic induction cooktops. Available in 36-inch and 30-inch configurations—with powerful, maximum-output induction elements—these cooktops offer a superb combination of modern design and technological sophistication.
Extremely responsive, induction cooking has long been popular in commercial and European kitchens. Now GE is making the technology available to high-end households.
Induction—the (Magnetic) Wave of the Future
Induction technology uses electricity to produce a magnetic field, instead of heat. The magnetic field reacts with the iron in metal cookware—including cast-iron and magnetic stainless steel pans—making the cookware itself the source of heat. Since there is no heat generated from the cooking elements, and no open flame, there is little wasted energy. And since heat is concentrated in the pan, very little heat is lost to the surrounding kitchen, and the cooler surface helps prevent the baked-on food spots and stains that can result from spillovers.
Monogram® Induction—the Forefront of the Industry
The sleek design with embedded digital controls is smooth from edge to edge, making it remarkably easy to clean. Framed, stainless metallic models have a reflective finish that mirrors the surrounding environment, whether it's a splash of vibrant color or a backdrop of glass-mosaic tiles. A black frameless version is also available.
Along with their extraordinary appearance, these remarkable new cooktops also deliver exceptional performance with a wide range of versatile features:
• Large, 3,700-watt element provides instantaneous heat across 19 different cooking settings.
• Digital pan-sensing technology automatically adjusts the heating element to the exact size of the bottom of the pan and detects the presence of pans with magnetic properties, a requirement for induction cooking.
• Smooth, easy-to-clean surface stays cooler than conventional radiant cooktops, helping prevent baked-on stains and spills.
• Timer, control-lock capability and hot-surface indicator provide an extra measure of convenience and safety.
• Flexible installation above a Monogram® single wall oven is made possible by a shallow-depth configuration with integrated cooking system. Unlike many competitive models, a Monogram induction cooktop can be installed into a countertop, with minimal intrusion into the space below, eliminating the need to remove or replace the cabinet baseboard to accommodate the wall oven.
The estimated retail price of 36-inch electronic induction cooktops (ZHU36) ranges from $2499 to $2799*, while the 30-inch models (ZHU30) range from $1999 to $2299.* They are available now at GE-authorized retail establishments across North America.
*Dealers determine their own resale price.
